I know it has been ages since I have written a blog post. I am sorry for the delay. Caring for my young children, watching over my own annoying health-related issues, and dealing with my husband’s quite grueling work and travel schedule has taken its toll.
Not to mention that any time away from my family, and personal responsibilities, has been dedicated to my book manuscript. As I have mentioned countless amount of times, probably to quite an annoying extent, my book manuscript uncovers the competing civic ideologies embedded in the original conflict over the Equal Rights Amendment. As you might be aware, there is a lot of action surrounding the ERA right now. So, it appears that my book might be quite timely.
You can read more about my book and the publishing process here. For now, though, I am happy to report that last month I submitted my full manuscript to my editor at the University of Nebraska Press (UNP). I am under a pre-completion book contract. Even though my proposal, and two chapters of my manuscript, had gone through peer-review before UNP had offered me a pre-completion contract, the full manuscript must still undergo the peer review process before we can move onto the next steps. So, fingers crossed for me please!
In the meantime, I have been keeping my writing and research skills alive and fresh by working on articles for my blog. I hope to have a fascinating review of the new Little Women adaptation up within the next week or so. So, keep a look out for it.
Until, then, be well!
